Scholars, maybe. Historians, no. No serious historian will make the claim that Jesus never existed. There's too much evidence in secular sources that are too anti-Christian to be later Christian interpolations. Like Tacitus referring to Christianity as a "mischievous superstition." Or Josephus, whose debated passage was translated into Arabic very early on, before the Christians got their hands on it; the Arabic translation contains information that Jesus was crucified, but no indications that he was more than a man.
