Is it possible to put cll leukemia in remission?

my mom was diagnosed 7 years ago with cll and last week was hospitalized with very low red blood cells and a persistant fever.she has had regular doctor appointments the whole time but she is very weak and the doctor said chemotherapy may be needed. they are doing a biopsy on her lympnodes .my question is -is this something that can be cured or put in remission? i feel that i am not getting the whole story from my mom-she hates when people dote or feel sorry for her-i think she is not telling me everything-please give any info you have -if you know
