Title of a book I read?

It was a novel that had some illustrations. The story was about a guy who transforms into a creature (I think it looked a little bit like Venom from Spiderman?) when he rages and he was part of a group where the members were given a nickname based on Tarot cards. I think that the guy was The Strength. Sorry for being vague, but that is all I can remember.
